Voorhees, NJ (July 20, 2008) -- Service Lamp Corporation attended Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, 2008 National Leadership Meeting in Orlando, Florida, July 13-17, 2008. More than 5,000 participants attended the annual meeting.
FCCLA students and advisers gather each July to elect new national officers, receive national awards, compete in STAR Events, attend dynamic general sessions, and take part in leadership training.
The student-devised subject for the 2008 annual national meeting was “Excellence Electrified.” Throughout the five-day convention, participants examined and discussed several critical issues, including family, school and community violence prevention, physical as well as financial fitness, future career exploration and countless community service projects.
Service Lamp representatives met with a large number of participants during the event to explain how our fundraising project was an excellent fit with the "Excellence Electrified" theme of the event. Using compact fluorescent light bulbs as a fundraising project is a fit for all levels from elementary school through high school. Several student groups expressed interest in using the fundraising project and received planning kits.
