Searching the Internet can uncover a wealth of lighting resources. We have highlighted a few sources on this page that we find very helpful in understanding the importance of sustainable lighting design, lighting techniques and lighting controls. This is not a complete list and we will add to it from time to time.
Lighting Design Publications
ASHRAE Advanced Energy Design Guides are available for retail, commercial and educational design projects. ASHRAE, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, address lighting, the building envelope, as well as HVAC efficiency. The Advanced Energy Design Guides are available for free download. Each guide makes recommendations by geographic region on ways to achieve a 30% energy savings compared to the minimum requirements of ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-1999.
The DesignLights™ Consortium (DLC), a collaboration of community-based utility companies and regional public service organizations in the Northeast, offer a number of publications dealing with energy-efficient commercial lighting design.

Lightolier offers a number of lighting brochures and publications In their "Designing With Light" series and "Energy Smart Lighting." A quick, on line introduction to Energy Smart Lighting, lighting regulations and other topics are also offered.
Lighting Control Publications
Lighting Control & Design has several excellent publications on using controls to save energy. Energy Code Compliant Solutions Using Digital Lighting Controls is a 16 page brochure (pdf) covering the full range of interior, exterior lighting controls and daylight harvesting controls.
Downloads offered by Lighting Design & Control are well done, informative and relevant to a number of segments. You will find a list of available resources on their main download page.
